Mindef increases FY2024 spending to $20.2 billion

Laying out the Defence Ministry’s budget for the upcoming financial year, Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen said Mindef projects that it will spend about $20.2 billion, a 2.5% increase from FY2023.

He said that despite the nominal increases for defence spending over the past years, its share as a percentage of GDP has been falling.
