Connecting your Sony TV to Wi-Fi is the best way to get the most out of your smart TV and its Google TV interface. This video provides a step-by-step guide to connecting your TV and some of the issues you may run into along the way.

To connect your Sony Bravia TV to Wi-Fi using the Google TV interface, start by pressing the settings cog on the remote and navigating to the "Wi-Fi" section from the home screen. Here, you will see a list of available networks, with the strongest signals at the top. If your network isn’t visible, select "See All" to view additional options and consider boosting your signal with a Wi-Fi extender or repositioning your router. Choose your home network, enter the password, and you should be connected shortly.

Should you encounter issues with content display but no disconnection message, check the network status by navigating to "Network and Internet" and selecting "Check Connection." If "Local Access" is fine but "Internet Access" is not, the problem likely lies with your internet provider, not the TV. For further assistance, you can like the video and subscribe to the channel for more tips and guides.

It's clear that a lot of effort is being put into making these video topics and I am sure many find them helpful. They have been very basic though. Maybe consider in the next one pinning a comment for viewers to ask specific things they would like to see demos of so there is a mix tips something for everyone of all experiences to take in. Or maybe consider expounding on one of the questions asked from "You Asked", like a deeper dive.

Maybe we should have had an earlier video on how to plug your TV into the power socket.

I used my USB 3.1 to ethernet on the back of my Sony, Over 900 Up/Down. When I fast forward on Netflix there is no spinning circle just instant content. I do like the WiFi better than the built in Ethernet on the TV because it is limited to 100 MB and with overhead I was getting about 90 MB. On WiFi I was getting around 300MB (my iPhone 15 PM was getting 1250 in the same place) so I don't know if there is a limit to the WiFi as well.

My connection may be overkill, but It is very stable, and fast. I did have to run a cable to the TV because I have a WiFi 7 mesh system and wanted wired backhaul.

All that being said, I believe it would be beneficial for a video showing the different connections. Ethernet, WiFi, USB 3.1 to Ethernet (and regular USB), and even connecting to a mesh system, then showing the real world differences between. Usually they will all work fine with much lesser band width, but if you have many connected WiFi devices it can help to have your TV's hard wired when possible.

If you have already done that please pardon me as I am new to the channel.

Thank you!

As always great video!

I Don’t recommend connecting tvs to Wi-Fi unless you have no other option.

Please review the Polk Magnifi Max AX SR soundbar. I'm dying to know how it competes against the big boys on the block, namely the Samsung Q990D.

While useful, I think we can probably aim a little higher on the complexity scale. These last few vids are a bit too too novice. I equate Digital Trends audiences with a bit higher level of knowledge. If they are viewing this video, I think we can assume a user can connect to WiFi.

This is a filler. Let's us wait for some big TV reviews.

I have one problem with setting up my wifi on my Sony XR48A90K, it doesn't accept a 40 character password, whether I type it out or use WPS (Wifi Proected Setup). The wifi spec should allow up to 63 characters or so, but this TV doesn't. I have always used passphrases for my wifi, the longer the password the the longer the hash key, the more secure. They are easier to remember too, a bit of pain to type through, but you only have to do it once. So on that TV I had to connect Firestick, which is complaint and takes the extra long password. If you could get word to Sony to fix that issue, that would be great. Other the TV is great.
