The Lost – Who Do You Love … recorded in 1965 or 1966
The Lost was a rock band that formed in 1964 at Goddard College in Plainfield Vermont, however after one semester the band dropped out of college to play music professionally. After relocating to Boston, Mass in 1965, The Lost became one of the areas hotest groups. Shortly after their move the band was signed by Capitol Records and between 1965-1966 they released three singles. …. The Lost became very popular and opened for many touring acts including James Brown, The Supremes and Jr. Walker & the All Stars to name a few, and in the summer of 1966 they toured the east coast as opening act for The Beach Boys. The Lost is another one of those bands that should have been better known and deserved wider fame. The Lost Members were: Willie Alexander (vocals, keyboard, percussion), Ted Myers (guitar, vocals), Kyle Garrahan (lead guitar, vocals), Walter Powers III (bass, organ, vocals) Lee Mason (drums, percussion). The song featured in this video, “Who Do You Love”, went unreleased till 1996. If you have any info about The Lost and would like to share, please feel free to do so. …Info source; discogs, Music Museum of New England, wikipedia

I have been in contact with Ted Myers who was the band's leader. They recorded a lot of songs during that period but Capital released only a few of them. There official CD which contains all the singles and other songs was released by Arf Arf records in 1999. It's a great introduction to their work. Also Family Circle Family Tree also contains about 6 of their songs including Mystic Seven Stary Skies in both a demo version and the bossa nova version which Ted Myers hoped would never see the light of day as he was tricked into recording that version. After the Lost broke up Myers formed Chameleon Church with future comedien Chevy Chase on drums and piano. Despite a being a great record it flopped. Myers then became leader of The Ultimate Spinach for their 3rd and final album. Later on Myers had a chance to be involved with Steely Dan but was not interested knowing he would have no control in the group.

This is why I call you the cover man.
They may have taken to heart Timothy Leary"s 1966 phrase, "turn on, tune in, drop out"
They already had dropped out of college.

I remember this band, they did that intense song "No Reason Why" as a B-side to their "Violet Gown" single. You turned me on to these guys. This is one of my top two Bo Diddley songs and The Lost do their version here nicely. When I was a kid in the '60's, Tom Rush's version hit Billboard's Top 40 and received a lot of airplay. .

Unreleased until 1996, there's no justice 😰 Still got the Bo Diddley sound running through this fantastic version of this classic song 👹👹👹

A rough and interesting version of this old Bo Diddly song. Man, there's been a lot of covers of this tune, (I didn;t even know the Doors did it until I went looking just now, and I'm a huge Doors fan). But my favorite's still has to be Quicksilver's because it's so clean and their jams go on forever, San Francisco style.

This song went unreleased till 1996? That's a shame! It sounds pretty good, I know "Who Do You Love" by QMS from their Happy Trials album out of 1969.

I'm familiar with Bo Diddley's and the Doors version of this song. In a way they did it a bit similar to Bo Diddley's version. It's a very excellent song and it still Rocks just the same.
