Hunting deer in the late season can be tough, after the firearm opener the hunting pressure is through the roof and the deer herd is being pushed all over the neighborhood. Winter is also right around the corner, food sources are disappearing and the temps are dropping fast. It's a difficult time of year to be a whitetail, they are doing everything they can to stay alive. This can make them more difficult to hunt, but at the same time it also makes them more predictable. In this video we will discuss several late season whitetail hunting tips to help you increase your chances of accomplishing your hunting goals.

Great video!

I have used many of the strategies and tactics that have been shown and talked about on this channel. This year I experienced the pay off! A shot it’s 3 1/2 year old buck ( at least ) And that was my goal. Thank you guys for what you do. I appreciate you.

Late season is my fav time to hunt. Like you said, the mature bucks get moving in daylight 10am and 30 minutes before dark. The doe fawns won’t run away like momma did. They tend to make circles around plots and return. It’s crazy Bc my 2 doe herd vanished over the primary rut. Usually they stick around post.

I love hunting the whole season but the older I get the more I hate the cold weather and the way this season has gone looks like I’m going to be in it a lot

Great information. I had a disappointing season again😂😂, still keeping my hopes up. Those pic you have of the deer beding are awsome. I'm thinking about getting a cellular trail cam, any suggestions. Keep the great videos coming, thanks.

Its been mostly warm this whole season, with lots of food to eat still. Shot a 8 yesterday at 12:00 pm. My land has really not much pressure, only myself, lots of deer still here. They tearing up my corn feeders. Im fortunate to have my area to hunt.

I think I need to find heavier cover. My neighbor to the south decided to clearcut the majority of his 40 acres. He's eliminated travel routes and bedding . (And is asking me where the deer have gone.)
I do have a thick 15 acres to my east with good browse. My stand is between that and a 2 acre sanctuary on my property that they like. My food plot is located there as well. I see deer every sit, but its typically a couple of doe / fawn families that live near my land. They haven't been bred, so I'm still hopeful that a buck will follow them in at some point.

So can we get some public land tips? Where it’s much more difficult to find these locations. When there’s 5k acres of land that doesn’t really have reliable food sources and access is extremely limited. It’s easy when you’re on 40-50acres & you have food plots setup and you can somewhat control where the action is.

Thanks for the video, alot of great info on late season bedding areas. My question is how can I catch up with the 2 big boys ( 10 pt and 11pt) on my cameras. I have shot a nice 6 pt and a nice 8 pt this year and have 2 tags remaining. Im in Southern Ontario, Canada and our season very much matches upper MI. I have shot both my bucks this year before 730am but I know this was before gun season pressure and now after both ruts over and our weather being warmer then usual with no snow on ground. I have good location between bedding area n food sources easy access etc with out spooking deer, had 6 does all around me 2 nights ago but NO bucks showed. Its dark at 520 pm est, is there any specific thing you would do? I have small food source Im hunting over. Thanks for any additional info from all.

Were in Michigan and the last 4 years we have caught some big boys on our cameras! 10-12 points are the big ones. We see many 8 pts & 6pts, down to a few spikes. What were seeing was mostly right at dark! 9pm and later. Just a few in the daytime. I told my sons I think we are to far from their bedding and need to move back farther in! I just put a test camera up for 4 days about half mile further in and what I have noticed is we caught deer every day on it. We even caught them the same evening we put it out! Mostly does and a split one sided one that looks to have broke off the opposite side and got a slight eye injury. They are all coming into a mock scape we set up at around 8am to 4:30pm only one pic was at 12 midnight! We grabbed the wrong scent and used doe pee intead of doe in heat which I wanted. They were all smelling the branches and scrape we made very intensely. Moving the camera seemed to help get daytime photos so Im gonna grab the doe in heat to add it to the mock scrape and set all 3 of our cameras up to see what comes in. The hardwoods here is butted up to hundreds acres of thick stuff and we are right across the trail from all this. I would bet the deer are in that thick swamp bedding for sure! Its 11/30/21 today so I will be mixing up my spray bottles with V8 Splash to spray the trees down hard as baiting is not aloud. It has worked to bring deer in for us and you can smell it for a long ways! Its all I smell while hunting. Might work as cover scent too?
