It’s all in the new tailcap design. Grip works well!

After using the #MH12SE (right side) for some time, the biggest difference against the #MH12S (left side) is not the beam, they’re quite similar to my eyes. But the tailcap groove. They added more grip at the switch area so when you’re pulling the light up from the holster it grips on very well. Especially in hammer fist type grips or if you’re wearing gloves or wet weather, it gives you more confidence vs the smooth tailcap grip of the MH12S. Tiny upgrades, but makes a huge difference.

Wish they had dual tail switches. I miss the p10gt. Lost the damn thing and it's discontinued

Finally something that can satisfactorily replace my P12GT which quit working like 2 or 3 years down the line (I baby all my flashlights). Was waiting for them to finally release a light that was as close to the P12GT's body and had the amazing throw that it did instead of just increasing the lumen count and decreasing candela more and more. Anyway, Idk why Nitecore has moved into this new tailcap button that's not surrounded by at least 2 points that can make it tailstand (like the magnificent old P12's) AND they switched to these metal switches that are very hard to find tactile-ly with your hands in the dark, vs the P12GT that had a big, nice and grippy rubber switch that you COULD NOT miss in the dark and could find in an instant. No tailstand, bad side switches (all they serve is aesthetics), Idk why Nitecore went this route :( Though this problem applies more to lights without a tailswitch like the MH10S, so with a tailswitch, the metal sideswitch is probably good since you can press the tail and have light to find it with. I'll give this one a try though because the design seems a bit different so the side switch shouldn't be an issue while having a very similar beam pattern to the P12GT, which was the perfect amount of flood/spill/throw ratio for a flashlight of that size (for me anyway). Was hoping for an improved P12GT that basically just updated it to use 21700 batteries and get a performance bump, so this will definitely do. Aside from the tailstand gripe, this is exactly what I was waiting for. If they make another one like this that can tailstand... well, my collection will only get bigger lol.
