*Good Apples (for pie): Pink Lady, Kanzi, Fuji, Lady Alice, Jazz, Honeycrisp, Braeburn, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith*

mix and match, always using at least 1 granny smith/kanzi for tartness, and a flavor apple for balance (braeburn/pink lady/honeycrisp)

*Bad Apples: Gala, Red Delicious, Jonagold, Envy, Kiku, Pacific Rose, Mcintosh*


A good baking apple isn't too sweet (Kiku/Envy), or too soft (Jonagold, Gala, RD, PR)

Hey Andrew! I brought this dish to my family's thanksgiving party and everyone loved it! Everyone really loved the lattice and said it tasted just as good as it looked! I highly recommend adding a sprinkle of cardamom to your spice blend, it adds a subtle floral flavor and elevates the rose like notes of apples.
