This is Genuinely INSANE...

The NBA season is off to the races but the Sixers are without their superstar Joel Embiid as well as prized free agent addition Paul George. The NBA is currently investigating the Sixers for improper load management and the unwillingness to follow the NBA's player participation policy. Sean Barnard sifts through why this is occurring, if the NBA has the case, and why the Sixers should continue with their gameplan.

Disagree. It's been 76 days since the Olympics. Zero reason Joel shouldn't be ready to play. If he's not playing due to load management, the Sixers deserve the investigation. If he's injured or had a set-back, then they need to come clean about it.

Honestly if Joel didn’t say he will never play back to backs he wouldn’t be in this situation. That something you gotta keep to yourself and go about doing said action.

Hate to say it but I hope the NBA nails us.

I am all for Load Management of Embiid but there should be some strategy to it. We sat him for the pre-season so he should be fine. He should have at least played Game 1 unless he actually does have some debilitating injury. I agree with you that they need to be more transparent, otherwise it causes this type of distrust and discourse among the fan base.

A couple of months ago Embid was complaining about less Sixer fans showing up to home playoff games than Knicks fans.

After Sixers fans buy tickets for week one games, Sixers announce Embiid isn’t playing. Is there any reason to ever for a hard working fan to buy a ticket to see a Sixer game if their franchise player doesn’t care about them?

Naw bro it’s just that he played in the Olympics he said he lost weight and was in the best shape since college then out of nowhere he’s not playing the whole preseason and the opening night? Something fishy going on

All the specifics aside.

We've seen the same story on repeat for about a decade straight.

During that time - what has given us the impression that even if HE IS HEALTHY - that means we can contend? Theres no evidence of that that i can recall. He routinely chokes under pressure.

Sometimes its just time to move on, i feel like we're beating our heads against the wall every year, trying to convince ourselves we have some potentially bright future that is just wishful thinking, a pipe dream as far as what ive seen from Embiid his entire career.

I dont believe he is the type of 1-a superstar capable of being a leader on a championship team. I dont think neither the basketball IQ nor the maturity is there ro adjust the offense from being a very heliocentric, iso heavy offense where hes primarily doing his best kobe impression fading away from midrange at 7'2😂

Despite his productivity on the stat sheet in terms of PPG, I dont believe thats a high IQ play style for a guy who could potentially be physically dominant in the post. That style of hero ball just isnt conducive to winning basketball in todays league - its too slow when hes dancing around midrange until hes taken 20 secs off the shotclock.

Now Maxey - I think he has all the innate qualities to be that 1 -A guy. Hes mature, motivated, appears to have budding leadership qualities - all things ive never seen from Embiid 10 years into his career to give me that hope even if he could play 82 games.

If Embiid took his job seriously & has known his whole career hes injury prone - Why hadnt he just ONCE come into camp in shape, conditioned, with a new diet?

It tells me he just doesnt care enough to make the necessary professional decisions which would put him in position to have a healthier season

Why? Because he damn well knows he'll get paid either way, whether he plays 38 games or 50.

Thats my take after what ive witnessed from him over the course of his entire career. He doesnt even put himself in a position to be a contender.

The one year we had a chance against the raptors, he absolutely choked.

I hope and pray that the NBA fines the Sixers and Joel Embiid, the bigger the fines the better 😊

let talk real facts no BS u talking. First Brunson average more than embiid in that series. Second in that series vs knicks embiid average 2 points and 1 rebound in 4th quarter. Third embiid reinjured himself by throwing self all-oop to himself in game two. all i hear is excuses and can't wait here excuse this yr they don't get past second round and u got no Tobias to blame it on. League is doing right he was able to play in Olympics so he can play now. National tv games that is rules so u can not cry about that.
