I spent decades eating “beer” brats that went from the package to the grill and onto the bun. I started making brats in similar fashion to this a couple years ago and it is so much better. To the hater who posted previously, this is not a German dish. I am 1/4 German and my wife is 💯 German. Hate if you have to in order to feel better about yourself, but it just makes you sound silly. Kristen… for an interesting sweet and spicy twist on this, prepare it just as you did, but plate using Coleman’s mustard and either Apple or Pear preserves. It’s delicious. Keep up the good work!

You couldn't make have been further from true German Cuisine if you tried! Boiling brats in beer and butter is disgusting. Ive been a Red Seal Chef specializing in Italian and German Cuisine for 40yrs, i would be embarrassed to serve something like that!
