I've seen a bunch of reviews on the GTI, from the 2015 model all the way to the 2020. This was by far the best one I've seen. I plan on buying a 2020 s with the manual transmission this Saturday. I thought I was excited before your video, but now I'm even more stoked. Despite only getting two beans on the bean scale you seemed like you were having a blast in it :)

I enjoy your reviews, Sarah. My 2016 GTI was the best little car! I had it tuned stage 2 APR and it was insanely fun and practical. The Veloster is not even in the running. The quality of that little VW is leagues above Hyundai. It is 101 intelligent little things designed into the VW that make it so special. Like the fog light access doors you noticed. You can get that base 6 spd. (What I had) for way less than 30K. Closer to 20. If you’re in that segment looking, drive one.

I bought a new GTI SE in 2018. I installed a neuspeed power module, and my car now makes ~ 250hp.


Fit and finish of my car is superb. The ride is perfect.


Next to my Miata, this is the most perfect and well-balanced car I have owned.

3 door or forget it. Being tall and sitting back from the wheel your vision is blocked by the B-Pillar. Plus a 3 door Is just cooler than a 5 door micro-minivan.

Sarah, the 3 door no question. I had a 1983 off the showroom floor no radio, no air conditioning, no sunroof. You could go into a corner and raise the rear tire of the pavement all day. That's 5 cookies in my life. Great review 👍👍👍

I have one of these in the UK, with a few options, but nothing obscene. I am amazed at how cheap a spec US GTIs get. No under bonnet insulation, no HID/LED headlights, an infotainment system that is worse than the system in the T6 Transporter vans, no digital instrument cluster. USA is missing out on a truly brilliant car - I wouldn’t change mine at all. Fast when you want it, quiet and comfortable with plenty of luggage space with adjustable boot floor at other times when you need something practical.
