oo someone included caliber. im steam dumpster diving for some f2p games, bless you.

~40 hours into caliber, my experience:

im not super into shooters, most shooters i enjoy are also rpgs (fallout, borderlands, etc) so this game caught me by surprise i enjoyed it so much. the closest thing ive played is being a support in paladins for reference. so i play the medic role, and its your healer role essentially, while you definitely still do the shooty, its more about keeping your team alive and moving forward, which feels impactful and helps the tactical aspect, since you are punished for rambo like plays. there is assault role, which are your flankers, shine when catching things off guard, close - mid range damage. supports, which are your tanks, the damage absorb/mitigation. and marksman, which are your longer range damage (usually sniper) oriented characters.

all the abilities are cool, being able to unlock Operator's skills and use them on other's is really nice as well cause you can cover weakness, or give Ops that use a lot of stamina for example, a skill that recovers stamina. it turns a simple 3rd person shooter into Op's with skill trees, choices, playstyles, etc. it also has multiple modes. PvP, PvE, and a combination of the two, which is super interesting.

the downside if i had to mention any would be how slow earning credits feels after the bombardment of all the credits at the start. when you first start, you are swimming in them after abit, but you quickly use them faster than you make them and it doesnt take long for that to sink in. what ends up happening is you do dailies for ~50k credits each day. MOST Ops cost anywhere from 150 - 200k credits, so its days to unlock some of them, which is fine, cool, im glad its a grind to some degree. what stinks however, is those same credits you also use to lvl up and upgrade the Ops, so you have to make a choice between saving to unlock more Ops, or spending to increase a current Ops power. so if you dont mind grinding, cause it is a f2p game, then i HIGHLY suggest giving it a go if any of this sounded at all interesting cause i consider it a gem.

it apparently used to be russian only or something and more recently had a steam release to a larger audience, and it deserves WAY more attention imo. anywho had to ramble back to the vid.
