I love when you talk about Moe.
I played my whole life playing traditional golf
5 years ago I started Moe’s single plain swing. I’m now 72 years old playing the best golf in my life.
I dropped from 18-7 handicap

Alex, just found your podcasts a couple of weeks ago and have already made positive changes to my swing. I’m 78 years old and was about to settle for mediocre golf. Thank you very much.

I was working on this at the range, and then also with the other drill about tempo. Friday I shot a 79, 13/14 fairways and 11 of 18 GIR..one of my best ball striking rounds..had the greens not been slow and shaggy I would have been even lower...Thanks Alex!

Watched this yesterday before playing. I’ve been following Graves Golf and attempting to swing like Moe for the last 15 years and went from a 20+ to a 10hdcp. This is a great swing thought/drill. Might have been my best ball striking round ever! Not sure how well it’ll work with a conventional swing.

This is the best Moe Norman tip explained by you in a brilliant way. i am 71 so never too late to improve. this is as simple as it gets to explaining how to not get the club started on an out to in path. Wish the teaching pro's taught this when i was 40.

I discovered the Moe Norman master move a few months ago. If you move into his Master Move, you'd say no one can hit a ball from there i.e. right arm lower than left, left hand higher than the right on the handle and right elbow into your side or in front of right hip. But, if you take that Master Move back to the top and then down into the Master Move and do that a few times, that's the arc of the hand path down and you begin the downswing with a clockwise motion. The same clockwise motion of pro golfers. You also feel the right shoulder external rotation, you feel the elbow leading the swing automatically, you feel the automatic shallowing of the club behind you, almost automatic shaft lean after squaring, and maybe more importantly, you feel what Sasho MacKenzie, bio mechanist, says about having the center of mass of the golf club must drop below the hand path to facilitate squaring of the face automatically. Moe’s Vertical Drop behind him was shallowing and Sasho’s dropping the center of mass below the hand path. Getting the feel is tough for amateurs, but Moe showed us the way years and years ago. It's a crying shame, especially for me wasting 50 years on a counter-clockwise swing, that more people didn't show us this years ago. I applaud you for leading us out of the wilderness, and inconsistent golf.

I don't know if this feeling I'm working on is right or not, but aims the same goal in the transition. What I look is to "invert" the hands positions (on top of the backswing the trail hand is "on top" of the lead one) but using the body movement, this implies to roll the lead hip and tilt and roll the torso, to get the lead hand on top of the trailer, ready to discharge thru the ball. Thanks a lot for your videos, Alex and greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷

I’ve watched Moe for years, but never quite mastered his technique until I recently had a hip replacement, and was diagnosed with severe carpel tunnel syndrome in my right hand which caused me difficulty in gripping the club other than with a baseball grip. With this in place “Moes” action became 2nd nature. My iron striking has gone from a typical 12 handicap to superb, I recently scored 1 over par on tricky par 3 course with holes varying from 90yds to 165yds and a single Par 4.

I picked up the concept of the clubhead starting the downswing by going down a couple years ago. it does work a treat for getting rid of the slice.

Holy sheeeesus Alex.. just got the purest most powerful 5iron I've ever hit. Driver was quite straight too.
44yrs young and hitting it as good or better than ever.
What a great swing thought. Thank you ⛳

What I have been doing is taking a strong left hand grip and then feel like I am trying to hit to right field on the downswing. Usually this gives me a straight shot or a slight draw. I think it mirrors what you were showing.

Great stuff. I incorporated it today and it made a difference. I was wondering however, with an iron on a downhill lie how you would use this strategy. Thank you.

Hi Alex. Excellent! You are right! This absolutely stops overactive hips on the spot as long as one learns how to preset their athletic stance with a heavy buttocks and springy knees as Ben Hogan taught on page 55 of his 5 lessons

Practicing the vertical drop as you have brilliantly shown us brings our right shoulder joint down it maximum of twenty degrees rotation clockwise as opposed to going OTT that brings the right shoulder up to its maximum twenty degrees rotation counterclockwise. Both Moe Norman and Ben Hogan felt their heavy buttocks as if they were sitting on a stool that gave them both springy lateral knees that were instrumental for their upper body swing giving them both the vertical drop necessary that shallowed their clubs back to its original plane of action to strike directly through the ball. Cheers 🥂👍😊👌
