I have a step mom and she is HANDS DOWN the best thing that ever happened to my family and I. I didn’t realize this at first because I was barely 8 when she came into my life but now at 34, I bring her up whenever I get a chance, I praise her and love her like my own mom. I unfortunately lost my mom when I was 30 and my step mom was always there for me every single step of the way. Love is love, that’s my mom and I love to see other people stepping up taking on the role of being a step-parent because PSA it’s not an easy gig and it ain’t for the faint of heart. i have a step dad, and he honestly i think is the best thing that could have happened to my family. My mom and dad had such a happy and healthy marriage. Sadly, my dad passed away a little over seven years ago. My step dad, or step-chad as i like to call him (his name is chad) was exactly the kind of person my mom needed. He’s kind, insanely loving, funny, and a great father figure for my younger siblings. I was 14 when my dad died, so i was initially upset at the idea that this man was “replacing” my father. My siblings were 5 and 7 years younger so they were kind of able to adopt step-chad as a father figure more easily. Even though i’m not as close with him as my siblings are, i recognize that all in all he has had a very positive impact on my family, and i’m very grateful for him.

❤❤❤❤ I once dated a man with 3 adopted children who were adults.. they were the most lovable humans ever. Despite all the troubles they grew up with and living their lives separate from their parents.. I was blessed to be able to have them be so open and honest with our relationships. Love them big boogers too the moon and back. Not dating their pops no more, but we do keep in contact.
