The Best Selling PS5 Game is from Xbox

Last month, the best selling game on PlayStation 5 was, oddly enough, an Xbox game. And not just any old game, it was a first party Xbox title called Sea of Thieves.

Alongside a few other games, the game was ported to PS5 as part of what seems almost like an experiment by Microsoft to try and make their gaming sector more profitable.

And it looks like this experiment has really paid off. There is no doubt in my mind that Microsoft and Xbox are looking at the success of Sea of Thieves and they are now in the process of choosing what game they are going to port next.

This is both good and bad news for fans of Xbox. It’s bad news because a move towards a multiplatform future means that an Xbox console is less desirable than ever.

But, you know, Xbox seemingly hasn’t cared all that much about console sales for a while. They’re much more interested in getting people to sign-up for Game Pass.

And although porting games like Sea of Thieves to PlayStation doesn’t seem like it would directly help game Pass. It does help the Xbox brand.

And it makes games like this, that have traditionally been game pass staples, be more popular and more profitable than ever!

Gamepass is prolly coming, considering we have ubisoft+ and ea play, with gamepass we can play those same games with one subscription.

it seems their new thing is less exclusives but if you dont have a xbox you wont get gamepass and have to pay full price for the games on other consoles, and gamepass maintains the value of xbox

Hear me out. If Xbox is porting live service games to Playstation then that is fine because it brings them a bigger audience but not their first party story driven games. Just like what Playstation does.
