1 Peter 1:23 - How Are We Born Again by the Word of God? What About Being Born of Water and Spirit?

Показать описание
In this video, we will look at the first chapter of 1 Peter and look at the subject matter in its entire context to see that there is a specific "word" that we are born again by. It is not just any word, rather it is the specific word of the gospel (1 Peter 1:25). Only when we obey the gospel are we born again. 1 Peter 1:3 tells us that we are begotten again (born again) unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We take part in the resurrection of Jesus Christ (the first resurrection) when we get baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins. The gospel is the "word" by which we are born again when we obey that "word." For someone to teach that being born again is a separate experience from being born of the water and the Spirit, is to teach false doctrine and confuse people with two different experiences regarding the new birth. There is not more than one birth. Someone is either born again and has entered the Kingdom of God or they aren't born again and are still part of the kingdom of darkness. We should not be using the Word of God to try and create two different birthing experiences as if we are born again when we receive anything from God's Word into our hearts and then we are born another time and in a different way when we obey the gospel. To obey the gospel is to be born of water and the Spirit and this is how one is born again under the New Covenant!
