Besides the rhyme scheme (as Kneipelix mentioned) sometimes translations are just approximations. There are words that either have no direct translation to English, or their full meaning is lost and they lose their intensity.

I think this song's change was mostly due to rhyming. Try taking the lines "I have lost my mind" and "I need her." Using only five syllables each, make them rhyme *and* have the same impact (impact/meaning being the most important factor.)
It's not as easy as it seems.
