Dr. Emily Qureshi-Hurst is Stipendiary Lecturer in Philosophy at Oriel College and a Junior Research Fellowship at Pembroke College, University of Oxford. She completed a D.Phil at the University of Oxford in Science and Religion (2021). Her thesis examined the theoretical support for a B-theory of time provided by special and general relativity, and re-interpreted Paul Tillich's doctrine of salvation in light of this metaphysical temporal model. She is the author of God, Salvation, and the Problem of Spacetime.

In this episode, we focus on God, Salvation, and the Problem of Spacetime. We start by talking about the metaphysics of time, and we go through how ancient and medieval philosophers understood time, the link between time and theology, and how people think about time nowadays. We discuss how physics relates to metaphysics, and how spacetime relates to theology. We explore questions related to the nature of God, human salvation, and resurrection. Finally, we discuss whether science and theology can be reconciled.

5:30 consciousness type one is a tool to recognise the inner and outer worlds, it’s important to recognise (realise) memories that could trigger a specific emotions, …etc. they mix things up and they have misunderstanding!

6:00 consciousness type one and thinking process, that’s normal and important for the process of shaping personal identity, thinking process is important to give meaning to things, reshaping personal identity, ….. etc

to concise: emotions are part of self concept, they are similar to frames that can hold memories, but there are built-in frames specific for built-in morals and values (normal humans can’t kill because of such built-in frames), but the topic is far more complicated regarding feelings and personal identity. Emotions can’t think and don’t generate the thinking process.

Emotions are built-in characteristics as part of the self-concept and work similarly to the vibration produced by hammering metal (like a mold that can contain past experiences as a memory, etc.), but there are ready-made molds dedicated to morals and values. The subject is much more complex than that regarding the self-concept and personal identity, but this is enough for brevity.

It’s through that emotions can effect the immune system and thinking process, …etc, they are essential part of self concept that responsible for generating both consciousness type one and personal identity.

Time does exist but as a process not a dimension nor an absolute entity.
and it’s normal that time is relative because time is a process that differ based on different observers (different calculations based on different situations)..
time in physics has direct connection to distance, that’s why they couldn’t understand time at subatomic scale.
(Time is a process). they even cannot understand why they use this equation: Time = Distance/ Speed and it’s relationship with how clocks work.
they don’t recognise the relationship between that equation and cloaks! the details of how human brain measures Time already was written (function of time, the two types of clocks, one is inaccurate related to consciousness type one but very effective and other one very accurate related to biological vital functions, what is part, present and future, ….. etc

Time is a process (the details already were written), and current understanding of space is wrong, Einstein never understood space (he was a hard worker who relied heavily on patchwork techniques).
