In my quest to go camping in safety - I had two options. Gunpowder, or Plasma. The choice was easy, and after a lengthy design process, i'm now sitting on what could be a world - record breaking stungun!

Phase 2: halo energy blade

You mean to tell me a channel called "The Plasma Channel" made an energy weapon THIS closely resembling the Plasma Rifle from Halo and makes ZERO mention of such???

Sick design, reminds me of Starlords blaster.

Either I'm having the strongest case of Deja Vu, or this is a re-upload.

I'd bet that adding a small flame thrower to it as a visual deterrent as well would even convince an angry momma bear to say, "c'mon kids, let's leave"

*Yes, it’s re-uploaded. He likely had to take it down the first time, to edit out certain keywords or add appropriate disclaimers.* Edit Note: I am also seeing a difference in how/what is shown.

Guns, even basic 9mm pistols, are highly effective for warding off bears. In 98% of all documented cases of bear attacks (since at least the 70s) where the defender was armed with a gun, the defender was able to fend off the bear. In fact, the recommendation from the park service is likely more due to (reasonable) concerns about tons of people going into parks and killing or wounding bears with guns than unreliable effectiveness, as OC spray has been documented on video many times as not being effective against humans, much less bears; and tasers have been known to have the same issues.
This is an awesome device for a multitude of reasons, but electrical discharge devices requiring you to fight within arms reach of a bear are an iffy proposition at best. OC spray, a gun, or maybe even a spear (if you're into that kind of thing) would likely be better.

1:05 DUDE! I'm only one minute in and the moment I heard you say Bear Blaster & then buzzZZZ, I was sold. I haven't even finished watching the video, & I know it's going to be awesome. 👍

This contraption is sub-par as a deterrent. Making noise is good, but any air horn or marine whistle will work better. On a preventative level, make noise as you hike, with bear bells or occasional bursts of song, because most wildlife will avoid humans if they can.
*Important exception:* During rutting season, very little will deter a mature bull elk or moose. When they're in rut mode, your mere presence in the same time zone means a fight on sight.

With how simple this is, and the lack of anything like it historically, I think it's safe to assume there are military versions of this you'd never want to know existed.

If the bear wasn't frightened off it would rip your face off before you had a chance to shock it 🤣

Reminds me of a Star Wars Weapon from General Grievous's Droids Guards. There are extendable staffs for painting that may help to compact the length till needed.

It's funny, when I was a kid someone described a stun gun as being "horse shoe shaped" with sparks jumping between the ends. I basically imagined it looking *just* like this, except with a trigger guard over the switch.

I watch the videos as soon as they launch
And all my sense of time was questioned for a moment till I found out this is a re-upload 😂

one suggestion for devices like these would be a reverse trigger pulling the trigger outward would make it so that incase of accidents or charge somehow flowing into the user your grip would tense and perhaps release the trigger by your hand tensing and pulling the trigger back inward
