my old exec even if she had a conversation in passing she would get her PA to send a brief email outlining it, she was a firm believer in paper trail dotting i's and crossing t's. it seems to me the POL have the same idea as roadworkers who can't see a pothole without it having a painted ring around it, no one takes ownership of their role, too many managers, no one thinks, wash your hands in toilets type attitude, we all know to wash our hands but now we need to be told or no one knows to do it. I heard of one guy in a government run company who was a manager paid £'s and his job was to read newspapers. It does not matter who is in government Labour or Conservative this country is going downhill. I vote for Jason Beer as PM and Alan Bates as Deputy and Sir David Attenborough as speaker of the house. I bet we would get something done.

If the Post Office went to various villages and employed their village idiots they at least could have a board of honest people. Probably more business acumen as well.
