All mentioned are a lot easier to use than programs like DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro making them great for beginners. None require an internet connection to use. So if you ever go offline, you won’t lose any of your work… Thanks for watching :)

Good tutorial, i had no idea that editing could be so straight forward. I don't know why I thought it was going to be as hard as climbing a mountain with no experience, but now i know its as easy as falling down a mountain with no experience!
Good Stuff!

Thank you for this!
I'm trying to upload games I've played and needed an editor but I've never done this before.

I made my first ever YT video (as in the first one I considered good enough to be actually uploaded LOL) using iMovie just a couple of months ago….and from my complete-beginner perspective, iMovie is the absolute best video-editor for noobs like me — it has basically no learning curve, the UI is super easy to navigate and work in and the app already comes with tons of included resources and effects you can use in your videos. 👍👍

Everyone should know about the free Lossless Cut. It does one thing and does it really well. It enables you to trim video clips without the bother of rendering and setting parameters and such. Drop in your file, cut the beginning bit, cut some of the middle, cut the end, and save. Fast, simple, and easy. Also, free.

Thank you so much for the tutorial.
BTW, the free 2D/3D modeling and animation program Blender includes a pretty powerful video editor as just another of its highly capable tools.

Thank you for the Shotcut tutorial! Just installed it and will play around with it more later.
Suggestion for a future video: What are some free recording alternatives to OBS Studio that don't have a watermark?
(Stuff designed for gameplay is a plus.)
Have found your videos especially useful.

I want to know if any of these video editing sites allow you to put images on your videos and let you keep the audio since I tried this with another site and it didn’t let me

Openshot is also very nice. Simple but effective alternative to vegas.

Looks great, so thanks Brett! What I'm wondering about is how something that good is "free." There must be a catch? 🤔

Can’t find Shotcut on apple App Store at the moment.

I was happy with VideoPad free, but for my first video doing vocals it added a lot of noise to the file. To remove the noise with its noise reduction feature, you have to upgrade and pay which is very predatory. Davinci is overkill for what I need it for, with a steep learning curve and Shotcut wasn't great. Stuck with what to use, so I'll try Lightworks next

I realize there are more but but really curious why you didn't include Capcut, free open source, powerful, reasonably simple, huge community and certainly better than at least a couple you highlighted. Capcut also does a great job of background removal/chroma for videos.
