Slow Waves was recorded in a basement art studio in the Standish neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA on 6/10/2012. Visiting members of the Tokyo-based band Suishou No Fune joined Sean P Connaughty, Comets Ov Cupid in an improvisational music session.

This live session was recorded onto a four-track cassette recorder.
