Scientists Discovered How It Rains on Other Planets! It's Not Water!

The weather on Earth varies a lot. On Earth it can rain normally, as liquid water, or water can come from the sky in the form of ice or snowflakes. But have you ever wondered what rain looks like on other planets in the universe? Many planets have different atmospheres and therefore completely different weather conditions than our Earth. Here we look at other planets and what ''rain'' looks like outside our own atmosphere.

The moons Ganymede and Europa have underground oceans of water, and Titan might have one too, there are probably water worlds in other solar systems as well, water is common in our galaxy, and probably the universe.

We could also speculate that on some other planet or moon roughly similar to our own or to Titan, there might be rains of ammonia or - given the greater cosmic abundance of water than of ammonia - at least an ammonia-water mixture. For that, the atmosphere would have to be anaerobic, i.e. free of oxygen that breaks down ammonia into its hydrogen and nitrogen constituent parts (water has stronger covalent bonds). Such precipitation isn't known to happen on any planet or moon in our own Solar System, but it could happen somewhere or another in some other solar system!

There is no day and night on Mercury. It is tidally locked to the sun. The sun always shines on one side and never shines on the other.

@TheSimplySpace U know, I've always thought of some of the machines we have that are able to draw water, and co2 out of the air and turn it into clean drinking water. If Mars is said to have a temp rating of around 50 to -50, then wouldn't we be able to create some sort of an oasis and produce some sort aided plant life to help boost oxygen levels and water in the atmosphere? Just a thought.

Imagine being so scared of saying Uranus properly that you rename it to "Uranis" in a video about planets.
