I put bindings on over the plastic sealing to keep the base protected on day 1. The company stickers let other riders know you're not broke and can buy new. Detune? Go carve!

It’s never going to hurt to wax a new board. Sometimes they don’t need it, still not going to hurt. Sometimes just looking at it tell you that it could use some wax. I don’t detune but I’d say that comes down to personal preference and maybe to some degree skill level or even might depend on board design or riding style. Binding, also personal preference/biology along with trial and error. Find a stance that seems comfortable, set bindings, ride, adjust accordingly.

always wax new board and polish edges, detune tips and contact points, and file down top sheet edge.

What are your thoughts/feelings on detuning for hittin the steel? I personally don’t spend all day in the park and want to rip carves too, so it always makes me a bit nervous hittin rails.

Call me crazy but I wax almost every time I ride. I like to be as fast as possible especially when the temperatures change drastically from day to day. I also think this helps with the longevity of the base. Cheers!

Step two find rocks
Step three add Ptex
Step four see step two and three and repeat until there is nothing left!

New wax over transport/storage wax is first useless, a waste of money and knowledge,
as you need to remove the storage one first with warm scraped wax, to build your own base, … that is one thing, , but seriously you are ironing your base like a grandma ironing a shirt… and 100 percent melting/burning it, you should iron one way, no going back, make sure u dont overheat the base and count every second from one tip to the other. Very very bad
