My nephew joined right after High School. He was asked to join the Submarine force. He was top in his A school for sonar. He served 3 years in Guam on an LA Attack Sub. He then went into the NAPS program and now he has just finished his Plebe year at the Naval Academy. Class of 26. College paid for! Also he plans to get his PhD after he graduates. The NAVY has been the greatest decision he ever made.

I spent 6 good years in the navy. As a single man seeing how the rest of the world lives it you get a good perspective that many in this country will never see. Word of advice for those considering. Choose a Rate you can transfer with to the outside. You will be that much more ahead if you decide to leave. Glad I did it.

When you become a pilot of F/A-18 Super Hornet, you cannot pick E(solo) or F(with WSO in the back) right? I mean there is someone in charge on who's assigning the aircraft?

Personally, I like the E because I want to be solo on aircraft.
