Shostakovich's openig melody is one of my favorites. I've posted this video before, but now in high quality.

Fabulous, true musicianship carving out the greatness of the "light" DSCH! Even the grumpy Beethoven himself listens intently over the shoulder when Heinz plays.

And the recorded sound, wow. It has the small chamber directness and room-filling capacity, very much like a recording by the genius Gert Palmcrantz (the guy who recorded "Jazz at the Pawnshop"). By the way, jazz pianist Bengt Hallberg (present on the Pawnshop LP) would have loved this, he actually played the accordion too! Had I known about this video I would've shown him (and he would have brought his ol' accordion the next day!).

La fisarmonica è lo strumento preferito di mia nonna. Anche a me piacerebbe saperla suonare. Ho studiato pianoforte tempo fa, ma poi la vita mi ha portato su altre strade.

I just tell that the accordion fits so well with waltz music, I don't know why but they are made for this type of arrangements.

Oh my God! It's the music that got me playing accordion in the first place... I never heard it played with souch details and fidelity!

I definitely will save this video for perfecting my version (I do not have any harmonics on it..)
