Normalization in DBMS (Explained) | Insertion, Deletion and Updation Anomaly | DBMS Tutorial

Показать описание
In this video, we will be discussing the topic of normalization and various anomalies that can occur during data manipulation. Normalization is a process used to organize data in a database, reducing redundancy and dependency between tables. It helps to minimize data duplication and inconsistencies and ensures data integrity. This is an important topic in DBMS and we'll cover various anomalies that you should avoid while designing systems.
We will be exploring different levels of normalization and how each level can improve database performance and efficiency. We will also cover the different types of anomalies that can occur during data manipulation, including insertion anomalies, deletion anomalies, and update anomalies.
Insertion anomalies occur when it is not possible to add data to a table without including additional, unrelated data. Deletion anomalies arise when removing data from a table unintentionally deletes other relevant data as well. Update anomalies can occur when updating one piece of data, but unintentionally updating other related data.
We will go through examples of each of these anomalies and show how they can be prevented through normalization techniques. By the end of this video, you will have a better understanding of normalization and how to avoid anomalies in your database design.
