I mostly agree with your points @TheLinuxCast , but I wanted to give my thoughts. I believe these types of reviews really help users that are new to Linux & the Community. Feel free to give me your thoughts, everyone.

Hey KeepItTechie. Nice one once again. I don't think we need to worry too much about this. YouTube is a voting system and subscribers follow great content. With that being said, when I first started with Linux the quick and dirty desktop walk through sealed the deal for me. It showed how easy it was to install and get running. Best part was it was free and was freedom!

The analytics of reaction videos are making the rounds. I usually steer clear of Linux Cast as his content is just not geared towards me. I have all but given up making Linux videos unless it is covering my own projects. I did the "look @" videos for some time, but that gets boring. I never had a problem with look and see videos done in VMs as that is the behavior most users "should" see. My hardware is not the viewer's hardware, therefore, the hardware does not matter. A VM gives the viewer everything they need to know about how an operating system installs and runs. Anything specific to the viewer's hardware is not going to be covered by my install on hardware, no matter how long I spend reviewing the distro.

Great point, Josh- I agree with him that you cant properly review a Linux distro in a 20 minute video, this is no different from other reviews on youtube like cellphones and electronics. This is a great video and the things you are doing is straight legit this guy is not talking about your channel because you go into details not to feed the algorithm but to educate people on linux.

Old boy's thoughts: Any review is based on a User Case. My user case is not your user case, and so it goes. Thus I do my own reviews, including the install and restart scenario. I want to answer the question "Can I set it up with my hardware, including an Nvidia video card, and set '/' to a SSD and '/home' to a much bigger hard drive? With the re-boot work? Like you, this is no 20 minute affair. Couple of hours of my time, minimum for any new distro before I can start using it. In three years I have not found anything better than what we currently use on our daily drivers and laptops. Being retired this whole test thing is mostly a hobby, and not something I would ever make a video of. I do learn from these tests and that is one of the major reasons I keep doing the tests. Will and have helped a friend to install Linux, and am prepared to find a distro that will work for them. Mighty small community for me.

There is one reviewer you can trust, and that is Matthew Moore. He tears it apart. Experienced users don't care about reviews as they know what they want. The only reason I watch some of these reviews is out of curiosity. Most of them are not good.

Generation Z (30 & under) seems to have great phone skills but not so skilled to deficient on desktop computing. Computer labs seem to be a thing of the past here in central NJ. PCs lab ripped out to make another general classroom.
