What I learned in 2023:
• you can't make people change, and if they keep overstepping your boundaries, they are GONE;
• finding / creating yourself is hard, but it's a fun journey;
• you will fall in love with the most random people at the most random timing;
• save some money while you can, because there will come a time when you'll wish you did;
• if social media is ruining your mental health, uninstall the apps - create a life in REAL LIFE;
• declutter and invest in quality things - also, the less stuff you own, the less it owns YOU.

When you talk about the fact you had that negative emotion for the beginning of the year is such a big lesson that I had to learn. I could see a huge shift from this Christmas to last Christmas it’s like I’m a complete different person. Choosing which story I decided to tell myself has been a huge improvement that has helped me get a grip on my emotions.

B, you are great. Here’s one more thing I’ve heard before but really embraced this year: “the little things ARE the big things”. We spend so much time chasing big dreams, big ideas, big successes, but forget to treasure the wonderful little things around us. A kiss from your baby, a snuggle from hubby at the end of a long day, a half-finished video in the editing bay that’s actually coming along — these moments may seem dismissible but that’s the good stuff right there. Those small events are actually road signs of a life well lived. So stop and smell the roses. Kiss the baby back. Snuggle the love. Smile at the progress of a job being well done. Smile at the messes and enjoy the clean times too. Just, live in the present, and enjoy the small stuff, because it all goes by whether or not you stop to appreciate it.
