As parents and East Valley community members call for action and change from city leadership, one teen has taken his concerns straight to the Capitol. Connor Jarnagan says he was a victim of a brutal attack at the Gilbert In-N-Out restaurant in December 2022. At the time, he was 16 years old and was at the fast-food restaurant to eat with some friends.

Banning brass knuckles isnt going to change a criminal's mind. The wrong thing is beind adressed here.

So, Arizona law currently allows minors to carry brass knuckles? Doubtful…

This is not ok. This gang activity needs to stop. Brass knuckles ban isn't the answer. Charge these kids and hold them accountable! I pray this young man has no further trouble.

Can the public get a description of the perps? No? Why? Doesn't the victim know? The witnesses? Were there no security cameras like there are everywhere else these days? Why can't the "journalists " ask these questions? Why won't the 'authorities' say?

One demographic of "youths" is usually the culprit of those "knockout from behind" challenges. It aint profiling if its regular occurence

Next up someone hit by a shovel tries to ban those too.

Assault is illegal, but the person still got assaulted. Why ban brass knuckles, get yourself a pair and defend. Or get pepper spray, anything to protect yourself. They cannot "ban" everything that possibly could be used to hurt a person,

I feel his pain. When I was in high school I was cracked in the back of the head with a baseball bat. Luckily I have a hard head, and my friends got a hold of the guy and, let's just say, he regretted his actions.

So they focus on the brass knuckles and trying to ban them, not the person who used them who is a violent threat to the community. No its the brass knuckles they need to go after...is it stupidity or fear of being labeled racist for saying the person who did it is a bad person? Or both?

But to be fair, we’ve already banned assault, and that didn’t stop the assailant. So a ban on brass knuckles would have had no impact on him either. I think this kids energy would be put to better use if he shared his belief in God with his peers, that’s what’s missing in so many kids lives 👍 We had guns and knives in our homes growing up and never considered assaulting each other with them.

Brass knuckles aren't the problem. they can be very helpful in self defense. This is a behavioral problem not a weapon problem.

How stupid, take away the brass knuckles but say nothing about the predators who roam at will and WHERE they come from. Produced by not raised.

Why do you have the report (Blacked) out when it describes suspects in black ink? . OHHH THEY WERE BLACK.

I thought brass knuckles were classified at a higher level of deadly weapon but it seems not in Arizona yet

No description ? No CCTV footage? I’d put money on the demographic.

As an old head, you don’t want the government regulating more stuff. A man needs to know how to defend himself. He needs to know he can get women. And he needs to know he can make money. These are the hallmarks of being a man. That along with understanding that the government is not necessarily your friend.
