he fight between the WBC world champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and the IBF, WBA, WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) has been postponed from February 17 to May 18. The reason was a cut received by the British boxer during sparring. Usyk watched the video and concluded that there was no intentional elbow strike.

"It seems that there was an elbow strike, but it was a punch. Just when he struck, his arm reacted in the direction he hit. There was a bit from below, and it seems like it was an elbow, but it was a punch," noted Usyk.

After the announcement of Fury's injury, speculation arose that the Briton simply does not want to fight Usyk. This is already the second postponement of the match. Initially, the meeting was planned for December, but due to Fury's unpreparedness, they chose February 17. And now the fight is postponed again. Oleksandr Usyk believes that Fury is afraid to face him in the ring.

"Whether he wants to or not, I don't know. But that he's afraid - that's true," Usyk said. The first reaction of Oleksandr Usyk's manager Egis Klimas to the news of Fury's injury was anger. Three-time BWAA Manager of the Year Klimas did not hold back his emotions. And he didn't mince words in his comment.

"Tyson Fury is a damn coward who does everything not to face Usyk, and he asked his b**** to hit him with a frying pan on the forehead. You can quote me word for word on this. When Alexander was told the news, he just smiled. That's all he did. He's too mentally strong to be broken," said Klimas.

Oleksandr Usyk learned about his opponent's injury after his own training. The training camp of the Ukrainian boxer is located in Valencia, Spain. Boxers taller than two meters are included in Usyk's sparring partner team.

"They told me this after I already left the ring. I trained 12 rounds of sparring, we did an incredible job. And then Sergey Sergeyovich Lapin approached with a smile, a bit tense, and said we have such news. I just smiled and went on training," Usyk recounted.
