What is a Planetary Nebula Exactly? - (Spoiler: They Aren't Planets!)

The first time I heard of Planetary Nebulae, I realised that astronomy had a naming problem; it turns out that such misnomers are everywhere! Nonetheless, Planetary Nebulae are some fascinating objects.

The result of the death of medium sized stars, and with very short lifespans (astronomically speaking!), they make for some very interesting objects to explore.
