You Don't Need THIS Perk in Fallout 4 (Probably)

Fallout 4's Strong Back perk is one you either love or hate. It allows you to carry more and to continue moving and loot while overencumbered. You can even fast travel to scrap and sell junk or other items.

Strong Back is a quality of life perk, like Aquaboy. You don't NEED it, but it makes the game better.

No rank 5 is essential in late game because how else am I gonna take my 3000 purified water to sell around the map

I usually agree with you guys, but couldn't be more wrong here. Survival gameplay reduces carry weight, and ammo has weight. Without strong back, you can pretty much only carry a pipe gun and a grenade without being overencombered.

For my merchant, Strong Back is a must for carrying my goods like water, chems, or even junk that I bought

Nope. As someone who, regardless of build, frequently weighs over 1000 because I can't be bothered to constantly return to base, the ability to run and fast travel when over encumbered is a must.

I disagree for survival mode, you have so much less carry weight I find even for a pistol build you get over encumbered after one or two dungeons let alone if you go for heavier weapons. Outside of survival I absolutely agree with you though

Strong Back is a strict necessity in Survival Mode. Unless you enjoy walking home with your loot.

If you horde stuff like me and constantly fast travel to a settlement to store items, then this is the most important perk you can have.

My play style can be summed up in few words: loot ALL the things, if it can be picked up, I will pick it up, I'll figure out what to do with it later

If you are into settlement building then you will need the strong back perk, at least to level 2. Scrapper too, but that’s another discussion.

I consider it a convenience perk. Not really necessary, but nice to invest in after your character's core build is achieved.

there is a glitch where you can tell your companion to pick up an object and they will pick it up even if it goes past their max carry weight, making your companion an infinite storage oppurtunity
