Shadow home secretary: Government's immigration plan is 'chaotic approach'

Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper has criticised the government's immigration plan.

It comes after a new five-point plan to reduce immigration was announced by the Home Secretary James Cleverly which includes banning care workers from bringing over their families and increasing the minimum salary for a skilled worker visa.

Ms Cooper said today's statement is an admission of "years of total failure" by the Tories.

She added: "The Conservatives are in chaos. Britain deserves more than this".

If Americans migrate to the UK as legal migrant workers en masse, are they also going to be conditioned to the new migration restrain? Will it also apply to Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, other Europeans, or will the law only apply to citizens of "third world" countries. Should other countries also introduce same migration policies for British citizens who endeavour to move elsewhere.
