I also think Villagers have trouble crossing carpets, so a few of those rooms they can't get further in than the door. Like the fella you showed.

A lot of the decorated rooms, villagers cannot enter be cause there's carpet immediately in front of the door; and villagers require a full 2 blocks height to pass through.
