fun fact: the Mona Lisa, much like most oil paintings of the time, was protected after it was finished with a thin layer of material-- however it decays and turns yellow over a long period of time, so most old paintings look yellowish because of the decay of decades, but in their prime probably looked beautifully colorful and vibrant
of course we now have ways to remove the layer of protection with chemicals but there's a chance it can ruin the painting and with something this historical you can't take that chance

Edit: ok I when is said you have to be born naturally with this talent, I didnt mean it doesn't take hours of practise and time to create a masterpiece like this I just meant it's annoying when people keep telling me to practise because a lot of people don't have the time and opportunities to learn like this. And I'm not saying you can't learn to be like this, I mean you still have to have a lot of talent whether art like this comes naturally to you from a young age (still with practise) or whether you learn it. Please stop hating on me because I didn't mean to offend anyone and I was trying to compliment the original artist

Fun fact I am learning in my art classes. It is difficult for most artists to accurately recreate da Vincis because he was left handed so the stroke work looks different.
