Can a Catholic marry a someone who has been divorced if they divorced person was not married in a Catholic Church, but rather in a courthouse? Is the courthouse marriage considered not valid according to Catholics?

So what if a Catholic marries a protestant in a protestant church. A protestant who is bauptized correctly. Is that marriage valid? Would the Catholic person be allowed to continue taking communion.

Will you please let me know that if the catholic marriage gets postponed due to pandemic, and due to pandemic the religious places have been kept close, in such case what can be the alternate way?

Why not in such serious situation, the catholic marriage can't be blessed at home?

If it's a religious sacrament, then that's what the church is for. So with that in mind, please explain why you charge to hold weddings there? I believe Jesus overturned the moneychangers tables in His Father's house.

The Church has received authority by Christ himself. If you have a problem with what the Church has placed in apostolic tradition then you have a problem with Christ. The only reason people would have a problem is because it is not convenient to their sinful way of thinking.

Hello Father. I am a devout Catholic but my husband is evangelical Christian— and we got married here in England. I live in NYC and he lives in England. I reached out to the Catholic Church but they told me I have to do wedding of Cana and we didn’t have time. We got legally married in England. If I want to get married in a Catholic Church can I? He would be fine with it.

Followup question...if 2 baptised catholics chose to get married in a barn on a farm by a person who has a licence to marry them ...should a brother and his family who are practicing catholics attend the ceremony and reception?

Where is the scriptures that says, Marrying by the church is necessary for salvation. Then I will believe, and I will decide not to leave the religion. Yes, I am a catholic! and reading the bible made me come to a conclusion, a lot of our teaching will lead us only in one place, the undying fires of Hell.

The correct name for marriage is *Holy Matrimony* and, as such, I would presume the Catholic Church believes that to marry in the church (the House of God) is to marry in the sight of God.

It is also confirmation of the couple's devotion to Catholicism.

I feel this is wrong just because 2 Catholics get married outside the church they cannot receive the sacraments but we all sin every single day venial and mortality what’s the difference. This catholic rule is why the pope changed it and why so many Catholics don’t go to mass😢
